The Best Type Of Childcare

A friend of mine recently said to me, in their philosophical way, ‘All life is about, is time’. While this may seem like the drunken warblings of some stranger at a bar, I couldn’t help but think that maybe he’s onto something. Look at life as a whole, it’s basically one long passage of time where we do what we please, within reason of course, and we eventually pass on. We hear people saying that old phrase, that life’s too short and that we should enjoy our time here. So it’s amazing to think how many people don’t actually take time out from their busy schedule to simply enjoy themselves. People who work day in, day out on simple production lines, who say every New Year’s Eve that they’re going to do so many things in the next year, until there’s no more years left.

Life is all about time, especially if you have children for example, and it’s safe to say that children are investments of your time, money and effort and naturally you want to be there with them for every step of your life. But sometimes, due to the time you spend at work, that isn’t possible so what’s the next best thing to you watching your child? Having professional childminders to take care of them at a childcare centre. In these sorts of centres your child will be looked after with other children so it could be considered a good way to boost your infant’s social skills and you can rest assured that the top quality minders at the childcare centre will take great care of your child. In some cases, you may not need to use a childcare centre because of how long you spend at work, but because you may need time with your partner or friends and having a small child there would be impractical. For times like this I would also recommend using a childcare service that’ll be flexible to your needs. From here you may even make your own new friends through the centre, so it could be considered a social experience not only for child but for you as well. And from there who knows, maybe you’ll find more friends who need to make time for each other, and your child can have a lifelong friendship bloom from it. These will also be a good way to prepare your child for going to school, and may help them socially adjust easier in a foreign environment.

Using a childcare centre will allow your child to develop in several ways, specifically through the extension of their vocabulary, as they’ll be surrounded by others learning, and will also teach them life lessons about sharing, caring and overall, it’ll be a fun experience for your child, and not to mention a fun time for yourself, with all the new amounts of free time that you’ll get from having your kids taken care of.

on the wait list since before she was born, a spot has opened up for neva at uc berkeley’s infant & toddler center. we’re giving it a try, and it’s going really, really well. the staff is superb, with a 4:1 child-teacher ratio, the facility is great, it’s a 10 minute walk from my library . . . and neva loves it. it’s full-time, but she’s going less than that, so she can still spend time with her beloved chelsea. 🙂
