SPD and Discipline Presentation



Often children with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD) go undiagnosed until they enter school or daycare, at which time they are labeled as “behavior problems.” Following the diagnosis of Sensory Processing Disorder the behaviors continue at school and the child’s teacher often does not know what to do and may resort to typical techniques, such as time out, color changes or even detention. While this is what works with most children, it is often counterproductive for the child with SPD.
This video was made due to the numerous requests I received on Facebook asking for more information. Originally a guide for teachers, I hope that it can be beneficial to parents as well!
