TWN Evening Seminars: Through the Night Film and Director Loira Limbal

Through the Night is a cinema verite film following 3 mothers whose lives intersect at a 24 hour daycare center. Both a film and a campaign to strengthen movements and society by centering mothers and all those who do the work of mothering, and to bring together support for caregivers to feel held, heard, and seen as people, rather than only valued for their labor. The film streamed for a week and was followed by this talk with the director Loira Limbal (by phone due to technical difficulties) about the making of the film and the need for societal changes. Co-moderated by Auralynn Rosario, the event was co-sponsored by Third World Newsreel and the Documentary Forum at CCNY. March 16, 2021.
